How to Play
ScoresIQ turns match days into friendly competition where skill counts. Not every correct prediction earns the same points: match difficulty and pre-match odds determine value, so bold calls can pay off more than safe ones. This page walks you through how to play, from your first prediction to the leaderboard.

What ScoresIQ is
ScoresIQ is a mobile-first web game for predicting football scores inside groups. Friends, clubs, creators, or coworkers compete on the same fixtures, swap banter between matches, and celebrate sharp calls instead of spreadsheets.
Why prediction scoring is different
Most prediction games treat all correct picks equally. ScoresIQ rewards both getting the match result right and nailing the exact scoreline, weighted by how hard that call actually was. A brave prediction on a tough match can earn far more than an obvious favorite pick. You can see the estimated points before you commit, so you always know the stakes.
How scoring works today
Lock-time odds snapshots power the ODDS_POINTS mode you see inside groups:
- Call the outcome correctly for points toward the result portion of your prediction.
- Match the exact goals for extra points when your group enables exact-score scoring.
- Open the breakdown sheet after scoring to learn how weights applied to your pick.
ScoresIQ never asks you to bet money. Odds explain difficulty and fairness, nothing more.
Enter predictions with score clicks and score odds
Upcoming matches open in a fast grid: tap home and away goals, and the app shows you the estimated points for that prediction before you save.
- Tap the exact score chips to instantly fill in the most likely scorelines suggested by odds.
- Expand Score odds to see how rare your chosen line is and how many points it could earn.
You can keep editing until the lock clock hits. Once locked, every player is on equal footing.
See your points before you commit
Before you save a prediction, ScoresIQ shows an estimated points value for that exact scoreline. This reflects what you would earn if the result lands correctly. A safe favorite win might show 1.2 points. A harder call might show 5.8 or more. The estimate updates as you change your score, so you can compare picks before deciding.
Review your results in My Picks
After each match settles, your prediction card shows one of three result labels:
- Exact: you got the scoreline exactly right, earning full outcome and exact score points.
- Right Outcome: you called the winner or draw correctly, earning outcome points only.
- Wrong: the result did not match your prediction; no points awarded for that match.
Tap any result card to open the breakdown, which shows the odds weight and how each part of your score was calculated.
How knockout matches are scored
You are predicting the ScoresIQ scoring result. For knockout matches, that means the result after 120 minutes, without penalties.
- ScoresIQ uses the result after 120 minutes, so extra time counts.
- If a team wins during extra time, that team is the winning outcome.
- If the match is still tied after 120 minutes and goes to penalties, ScoresIQ treats the match as a draw.
- Penalty shootout goals and the penalty shootout winner do not count for the outcome or the exact score.
Examples
Home win in extra time
After 90 minutes: Netherlands 1, Japan 1.
After 120 minutes: Netherlands 2, Japan 1.
ScoresIQ outcome: home win. ScoresIQ exact score: 2:1.
A player who picked 2:1 Netherlands can receive Exact Score. A player who picked 1:1 does not receive draw points, because the match was decided in extra time.
Away win in extra time
After 90 minutes: Netherlands 0, Japan 0.
After 120 minutes: Netherlands 0, Japan 1.
ScoresIQ outcome: away win. ScoresIQ exact score: 0:1.
A player who picked 0:1 Japan can receive Exact Score. A player who picked 0:0 does not receive draw points, because Japan won in extra time.
Draw after 120 minutes, then penalties
After 90 minutes: Netherlands 1, Japan 1.
After 120 minutes: Netherlands 1, Japan 1.
Penalty shootout: Japan wins.
ScoresIQ outcome: draw. ScoresIQ exact score: 1:1.
A player who picked 1:1 can receive Exact Score. A player who picked a Japan win does not receive outcome points, because penalties do not count for ScoresIQ scoring.
Follow matches live
When a match is in progress, you can follow the live score inside ScoresIQ. Watch how the result develops against your prediction and see how it affects your group standing in real time.
Live leaderboard
Every group has a leaderboard that updates after each match is scored. See where you rank among your group members, track how the gap between you and the leader is moving, and use it to decide how bold your next prediction needs to be.
Track your progress over the season
The progress page shows two graphs: your points earned per day or per match, and your rank inside the group over time. Use these to spot whether you are trending up after a strong match day or need a brave call to close the gap.
Achievements
ScoresIQ awards achievements for standout predictions. Three types to earn:
- Exact Score: you predicted the exact scoreline correctly.
- Big Call: you correctly predicted an unlikely outcome that most players missed.
- Long Shot: you nailed a high-odds exact scoreline that few would dare predict.
Each achievement generates a shareable card you can post directly from the app. They are bragging rights you control.
Create a group
Spin up a private friends league or advertise a community table. Pick the tournament season, tune visibility, invite people with a secure link, and you are moderating fixtures without touching spreadsheets.
Join a group
Accept an invitation, follow a WhatsApp-shared link, or browse open public listings when you crave fresh competition. You can belong to multiple groups at once because every leaderboard stays scoped per room.
Group restrictions and management basics
Public groups can add country guardrails or capacity limits so play stays fair. Private groups lean on invites instead. Admins manage members, share tokens, and optional approval queues while ScoresIQ enforces the heavy rules server-side.
You will see the right actions (join, request, accept) based on how each group is configured, so you never guess which button applies.
View other players results
Before lock you keep your card private. After lock, member-only surfaces like Member Picks reveal how rivals called the same fixture, so you can compare bold ideas without camping group chats.
Partner joining and referrals
Creators sometimes publish partner links wrapped in `/ref/[token]` consent screens so ScoresIQ can recognize who introduced you during first sign-up without ever selling gambling services. Participation stays voluntary and transparent in Privacy.
Feedback
Tell us what blocks you, excites you, or feels confusing. Hearing from mixed groups sharpens onboarding for everyone.
Signed in players can submit in-app feedback on the Feedback page.
